All ACUVUE® contact lenses have Class 1 or Class 2 UV-blocking to help provide protection against transmission of harmful UV radiation to the cornea and into the eye. UV- absorbing contact lenses are NOT substitutes for protective UV-absorbing goggles or sunglasses because they do completely cover the eye and surrounding area. UV transmission measured with -1.00 lens.

Packing solution contains boric acid and disodium tetraborate (sodium borate) to control the pH of the solution.

Fit Guide
1. Determine the Best Vision Sphere (BVS)
  • Perform a new subjective refraction° then remove cylindrical power and determine best distance VA with the least minus spherical refraction°°.
2. Determine the sensory dominant eye
  • +1.00 blur test recommended rather than sighting methods
3. Determine the lowest ADD based upon the patient's needs
  • With the distance BVS in place, determine the lowest functional reading ADD
Top Tip: Over the spherical distance refraction, start with 0.50D less than the spectacle ADD and if necessay, increase in 0.25D steps until required near vision is achieved.
